MEETINGS

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Guest speakers are often part of the first hour, providing information on a variety of topics. Group news is shared by the executive committee.

During the second hour of the meeting, stroke survivors and caregivers separate into two groups. Each group gathers in different rooms to share their thoughts and provide support.

NIAGARA PREHAB AND WELLNESS

We welcomed Adam Burtnik from Niagara Prehab and Wellness in St. Catharines. He talked to us about the benefits of physical activity as well as fall prevention. With the help of Ashleigh from ALK Artwork, each person transformed a blank canvas into a personal work of art. Most had no experience painting but it didn't matter. We all tried to paint a sunflower. Some had more success than others but it didn't matter. The emphasis was on having fun!
