SATURDAY, JUNE 20TH @ 12:30PM

The 12th Annual Walk 'n' Roll is going virtual!
Main Event: June 20th @ 12:30pm on Zoom
MEMBER REGISTRATION
MAKE A DONATION
Due to COVID-19 our Walk N’ Roll event is going virtual so we can avoid door to door canvassing and practice social distancing. Therefore, this year, the main focus is on awareness of stroke and aphasia.

Leading up to this event, members are encouraged to get ACTIVE. The After Stroke Program of March of Dimes is issuing the 20 for 20 challenge. You have to do an activity or exercise 20 times, or for 20 minutes, for 20 days. It can be 20 jumping jacks, strolling around your yard for 20 minutes, or anything else you like. Exercise can be physical but you can also exercise your brain and do puzzles, read, or anything else. Get creative and have fun!!! Share photos/videos of your activities on social media by using #WalkNRoll and adding the tag @marchofdimesca

There are great prizes to be won! Every time you post a picture or video, your name is entered into a draw. The more posts, the greater your chance on winning a prize so get busy and most importantly have fun.

Event Day: Saturday, June 20th at 12:30 p.m on Zoom. Activities will include celebration of people ‘s activities, exercises (seated exercises included), stroke and aphasia jeopardy, concert, Flash mob dance.
On behalf of SOS Niagara, thank you for your support!
Since it's inception, Walk'n'Roll has raised over $435,000 towards community programs.
Our annual Walk‘n’Roll fundraiser encourages people with physical disabilities or aphasia, to get active and out in their communities, supporting vital programs that help independence, improved communication, community participation and improves health and fitness as a bonus.
We hope you can be a part of it!

How your donationS make a difference

How much of the funds go directly to SOS Niagara?
70% go to SOS Niagara
30% go to March of Dimes Canada

How will the funds be used?
Our moto is, “There is life after stroke.” We do our best to assure this. However, without the funds raised at the Walk ‘n’ Roll, it would not be possible to provide this to our members.

SOS Niagara has grown into a thriving support group that helps people connect with peers, exchange information and resources, explore the personal impact of stroke and build supportive relationships. Meetings are the second Monday of every month, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Niagara Region Headquarters, 1815 Sir Isaac Brock Way, Thorold, Ontario.

Guest speakers are invited to meetings to cover topics such as: driver’s licence reinstatement, Osteopathy, Naturopathy, meditation, health and wellness, psychotherapy, accessibility, etc. Social activities are organized throughout the year which are partially subsidized to make it more affordable to members. Last year’s events included a free summer barbeque, a trip to Oh Canada Eh! dinner theatre, bowling and a Christmas dinner party including gifts for everyone. On the last Monday of every month, a social night is organized which has included activities such as Euchre, talent night and craft night, etc.

Funds raised from the Walk ‘n’ Roll has not only helped pay for the above activities but also the cost of SOS Niagara brochures and banner, website, Walk ‘n’ Roll t-shirts and materials for monthly meetings.

Together, with your support, we can reach our fundraising goal. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
